Dalam bahasa yang sederhana:

"Internet OFFLINE adalah mengcopy informasi / pengetahuan yang ada di Internet ke server lokal di sekolah / di kampus. Sehingga siswa / mahasiswa di daerah dapat mengakses pengetahuan / informasi secara lokal TANPA perlu akses Internet sama sekali"

Kerangka Berpikir Internet Offline dikembangkan untuk pertama kalinya dan disajikan di youtube pada Saluran OnnoCenter di https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKuiRIQMZFE berjudul "Konsep Internet Offline untuk Sekolah" tanggal 1/10/2018.

Secara umum terdapat 3 (tiga) fungsi/bagian yaitu,

  • Pengontrol, Pengumpul, dan Pengepul konten
  • Pengoperasian fasilitas Internet Offline di sekolah, dan
  • siswa/guru yang mengakses konten menggunakan smartphone/komputer .


Sederhananya, bagian pengumpulan konten yang mungkin terpusat, konten dikumpulkan di SD/microsd dan siap dijalankan. Konten didistribusikan ke sekolah, dan diinstal pada server RaspberryPi lokal. Guru dan siswa dapat mengakses melalui fasilitas jaringan lokal seperti LAN dan WiFi.



This paper proposes a solution to overcome the scarcity of knowledge because of the difficulty of accessing the Internet, especially for schools in rural and village areas. Unfortunately, not many research in providing integrated solutions for schools in rural areas have been carried out.

Technologically it doesn't seem too difficult. The major technical issue is in providing electric power to many devices in the school for a long time. Alternative electric resources such as solar cells that are integrated with the power bank may be of interest.

In the solution, the hardest work is in preparing the teaching material that will be copied to the offline server. From the hardware side, we will face the limitation of microsd storage size. It thus limits the scenario and methods in providing the educational material to the students. With very limited space in the microsd, we need to focus on what material need to be copied to microsd so that it is sufficient for teaching processes.

Another advantage of Internet Offline Solution for schools is that teacher no longer have to worry about pornographic, in approriate contents, cyberbullying, spam, hoax and many unproductive content abundant in the Internet. Thus, the schools can be focused on positive content for teaching only.

This research is still in the early stage. It is our hope to be able to produce a practical solution for schools in rural / village areas. Further work, especially in preparing content in sync with the teaching method is needed.
