Pemerintah maupun konsensus komunitas kemungkinan besar akan menentukan batasan-batasan maksimum dari daya yang boleh di pancarkan dari antenna. Daya yang dipancarkan dari antenna dapat di ukur dengan dua (2) cara yaitu:

Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) dalam dBm
=  daya di input antenna [dBm] + penguatan antenna [dBi]
Effective Radiated Power (ERP) dalam dBm
=  daya di input antenna [dBm] + penguatan antenna [dBd]

Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) biasanya kita gunakan. Kita biasanya membatasi EIRP sekitar 36dBm. Di Indonesia, kita mengadopsi batasan EIRP yang berbeda bagi sambungan Point-to-Point (P2P) dan sambungan Point-to-Multi-Point (P2MP), menjadi 36 dBm dan 30 dBm.
