OpenStack adalah project IaaS cloud computing yang dilakukan oleh Rackspace Cloud dan NASA. Saat ini cukup banyak perusahaan yang tergabung dalam project openstack seperti Citrix Systems, Dell, AMD, Intel, Canonical and Cisco. Project ini di lepaskan sebagai software free open source menggunakan lisensi Apache License.

OpenStack Compute (Nova) adalah cloud computing fabric controller (bagian utama dari IaaS system). OpenStack ditulis dalam Python, menggunakan Eventlet dan framework Twisted, dan menggunakan standard AMQP messaging protocol, dan SQLAlchemy untuk data store access. OpenStack Object Store (Swift) adalah massively scalable redundant storage system yang digunakan dalam solusi cloud.

OpenStack mendukung Open Virtualization Format (OVF) . OpenStack mengintegrasikan code dari NASA Nebula platform juga Rackspace's Cloud Files platform.
