Install KnowledgeTree in Ubuntu By: Onno W. Purbo


  1. apt-get install libmysqlclient15-dev
  2. apt-get install libphp-adodb
  3. apt-get install libgd2-xpm libgd2-xpm-dev
  4. apt-get install php5-mysql
  5. apt-get install php5-gd
  6. apt-get install php-image-graph php-image-canvas php-pear
  7. apt-get install postfix
  8. apt-get install catdoc


  1. /etc/init.d/postfix restart
  2. /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
  3. /etc/init.d/mysql restart


mysql mysql> SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost=PASSWORD('password');

alternatively

  1. mysql -u root -p

Enter password: mysql> create database dms; mysql> grant INSERT,SELECT on root.* to dms@localhost; mysql> SET PASSWORD FOR dms@localhost=PASSWORD('password_from_dms.conf'); mysql> grant CREATE, INSERT, SELECT, DELETE, UPDATE on dms.* to dms@localhost; mysql> grant CREATE, INSERT, SELECT, DELETE, UPDATE on dms.* to dms; mysql> exit


  1. cp knowledgeTree-3.3.6.tgz /var/www/
  2. cd /var/www
  3. tar zxvf knowledgeTree-3.3.6.tgz
  1. cd /var/www/knowledgeTree
  2. mysql -p dms < sql/mysql/install/structure.sql
  3. mysql -p dms < sql/mysql/install/data.sql
  4. mysql -p dms < sql/mysql/install/user.sql


  1. cd /var/www/knowldgeTree
  2. vi config/config.ini

[db] dbType = mysql dbHost = localhost dbName = dms dbUser = dms dbPass = djw9281js dbPort = default

dbAdminUser = dmsadmin dbAdminPass = js9281djw

[email] emailServer = 127.0.0.1 emailPort = default


  1. chown -Rf www-data.www-data /var/www/knowledgeTree
  2. chmod -Rf 766 /var/www/knowledgeTree/var
  1. vi /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini

post_max_size 32M upload_max_filesize 32M memory_limit 32M


  1. /etc/init.d/apache2 restart


Web Access To Setup http://localhost/knowledgeTree/setup

Web Access http://localhost/knowledgeTree admin admin
