conf/default/*
Ubah default setting spesifik untuk interface.
conf/all/*
Ubah semua setting yang khusus interface.
Pengecualian: “conf/all/forwarding” mempunyai arti yang berbeda.
conf/all/forwarding
Type: BOOLEAN
Ini mengaktifkan IPv6 forwarding secara umum antar semua interface.
Di IPv6 kita tidak dapat mengatur forwarding per device, pengaturan forwarding harus dilakukan mengunakan IPv6-netfilter (di atur menggunakan ip6tables) ruleset dan menentukan device input dan output (lihat tentang Firewalling/Netfilter6 untuk informasi lebih lanjut). Ini berbeda dengan IPv4, dimana kita dapat mengontrol forwarding per device (keputusan di ambil di interface saat paket masuk).
Ada juga parameter untuk menset semua interface Host/Router 'forwarding' ke sebuah nilai tertentu. Hal ini di kenal sebagai global forwarding. Jika nilai ini 0, maka tidak akan ada IPv6 forwarding, paket tidak akan meninggalkan interface lainnya, baik itu fisik maupun logik, seperti, tunnel.

Perilaku secara fungsional dari beberapa konfigurasi tergantung apakah forwarding lokal di aktifkan atau tidak.
accept_ra
Type: BOOLEAN
Fungsi default: aktif jika forwarding lokal disable. Disable kalau forwarding lokal di enable.
Menerima Router Advertisement, dan autoconfigure interface ini dengan data yang di terima.
accept_redirects
Type: BOOLEAN
Fungsi default: enable jika forwarding lokal disable. Disable jika forwarding lokal di enable.
Menerima Redirect yang dikirim oleh IPv6 router.
autoconf
Type: BOOLEAN
Fungsi default: enable jika accept_ra_pinfo enable. disabled jika accept_ra_pinfo disable.
Autoconfigure addresses menggunakan informasi prefix dari router advertisement.

Type: INTEGER
Default: 1
Jumlah Duplicate Address Detection probes yang dikirim.
forwarding
Type: BOOLEAN
Default: FALSE if global forwarding is disabled (default), otherwise TRUE
Configure interface-specific Host/Router behaviour.
Note: It is recommended to have the same setting on all interfaces; mixed router/host scenarios are rather uncommon.
Value FALSE: By default, Host behaviour is assumed. This means:
IsRouter flag is not set in Neighbour Advertisements.
Router Solicitations are being sent when necessary.
If accept_ra is TRUE (default), accept Router Advertisements (and do autoconfiguration).
If accept_redirects is TRUE (default), accept Redirects.
Value TRUE: If local forwarding is enabled, Router behaviour is assumed. This means exactly the reverse from the above:
IsRouter flag is set in Neighbour Advertisements.
Router Solicitations are not sent.
Router Advertisements are ignored.
Redirects are ignored.
